Configuring the Second Server and Adding a Tree to your Forest
After you are satisfied that your first domain controller is
configured and functioning properly, it's time to move to your second,
third server and so on.
Enter the IP address for your second server and the DNS address of the
root server.
Now run dcpromo on your second server to add this server as an
additional domain controller for an existing domain.
Domain Network credentials are required to add your server. You must
use the administrator account and password from your root server which
is an enterprise level account. If the installation fails at this
point, check to see if you have selected to allow dynamic updates for
DNS on your root server.
Point the installation to your root server using the full DNS domain
controller name.
Specify the locations of the Active Directory Data Base and Log. This
must be an NTFS partition. For performance and recoverability, it is
recommended to place these on a separate partition.
