Now
select "create a new forest of domain trees" as this option will
create the first domain controller in your organization.
You will now be asked to specify a domain name that will be your full
DNS name. A Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) is required as
Microsoft Windows 2000 networking relies on a contiguous domain name
space and DNS Services for computer and domain name resolution. You
may use your Internet registered domain name with its suffix, such as
.com, .net, .org etc.
The Active Directory Wizard requires a domain NetBIOS name for
backwards compatibility. This allows earlier versions of Windows
Operating Systems that participate in your network to identify the new
domain.
On the following screen, you will be
asked for a location to store the Active Directory Data Base and Log.
Notice that installation recommends a separate partition for better
performance and recoverability. These partitions must be NTFS
