How to Share a Printer on a Network ?
With printer sharing, you can use one printer from any
computer on your network. Add the printer to the computer that's turned on
(the computer that hosts the printer has to be turned on for any printing to
happen). Once you've used the Network Setup Wizard to turn on File and
Printer Sharing, your Windows XP host computer will recognize and configure
almost any Plug and Play printer. This printer will then appear on the list
of available printers on every other Windows XP computer on the network.
Other versions of Windows will recognize the
printer once you've run the Add Printer Wizard. To use the printer from
another computer, click Start, and then click Printers and Faxes.
Under Printer Tasks, click Add a printer. Follow the
instructions in the wizard to add the printer.
